line

Kindergarteners learned that lines are one of the basic parts of art.  They learned how to draw and identify straight, zig-zag, wavy, curly, dotted, and broken lines.  In the drawing center, they made a landscape drawing, using a variety of lines to create patterns.  In the painting center, they made a crayon resist line painting, using watercolor paint for the first time.  In the mixed media center, they made a line collage, and added details with construction paper crayons.  Some students had the chance to experiment with printmaking, using small pieces of cardboard dipped in paint to create a line drawing.
