Second graders learned about warm and cool colors, and how they are used by artists to add emphasis and create certain moods in artwork.  They also learned the difference between geometric and organic shapes.  In the mixed media center, they created geometric shapes in warm and cool colors with washable marker, then dripped water on them to create organic shapes.  In the drawing center, students drew fall scenes with pumpkins, using wrm and cool colors to show light and shadow, and add interest.
