lineSecond graders learned how artists use line to show movement and express emotion. In the drawing center, they made a drawing in the style of American street artist Keith Haring, showing people in motion. In the painting center, they painted in the style of Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky. Kandinsky created abstract paintings that he thought of as visual music. Students listened to music by Mozart, and used different types of lines to reflect the changing ynamics they heard in the music. In the mixed media center, students created a 3D line collage.
